Ask any pro worker...he's tell you that the "multiplying rabbits" is one of the STRONGEST magic effects you can do for a layman. I learned that fact for myself when I worked regularly worked restaurants eons ago (back during the last century!). No less a top pro than Daryl - "The Magician's Magician" - touted the little sponge bunnies as one of his top "go to" tricks when working for laymen. They LOVE the plot AND the cute little props!
Lots of of folks have produced the cute little foam bunnies over the years, and in a variety of styles. Of course, it really didn' evenvmatter how rdue they were... when they multiplied - in the spectator's own hands! - the spectators were instantly intrigued. We've seen sponge rabbits ranging from a basic rough shape (the original S.S. Adams "Peter Rabbit Goes to Town") to Eddie Ace's hand-carved masterpieces. Of course, the top producer of the foam rabbits has always been the one and only Goshman.
Two small (2.5 inches tall) sponge rabbits are
displayed. "Mama" rabbit is placed into a spectator`s hand, and "Papa"
rabbit is placed in the magician`s pocket. A magical gesture, and voila! "Papa" rabbit
has magically jumped into the spectator`s hand to join "Mama"! Believe me, your female spectator/assistant will SHRIEK with delight! This may be repeated as the situation (or your own routine) dictates.
For the amazing kicker finale', "Mama" and "Papa" rabbit are placed back into
the spectator`s hand, and another magical gesture is made. THIS time when she opens her hand, the whole rabbit family jumps
out! Your assistant will SCREAM, jump up, then "do a little dance so she doesn't wet her pants!" Yessir....the reactions are REALLY just THAT strong!
This is the PRO set made in Goshman's own "Super-Soft" foam. This outfit comes complete with all of the necessary sponges: THREE large bunnies -- TWENTY baby bunnies (one of them black) and
a sponge "aspirin tablet", plus complete instructions. In less P.C. (politically correct) days, that "aspirin tablet" was referred to as a "birth control pill". And the black baby bunny was pointed out as being the "black sheep of the family". I'm not passing judgement one way or the other...I'm just providing those facts for historical context.Do with that information what you will...
