These show up on eBay from time to time and almost always bring a hefty price, particularly when they're in good condition.

          These lovely pins were made by Coro (Cohn & Rosenberger Co.) in 1937. Although usually described on eBay as “lapel pins”, they are, in fact, fur clips. This is what a woman would use to secure her fur stole around her shoulders when going out for an evening's entertainment, circa late 1930's.

          These lovely little pins are articulated....the mouth moves via a small lever under the shoulders. On the back is a “vampire” type clip to secure the fur in place. The back is marked with Bergen's licensing and patent #. They are made of brass and individually hand-painted and the monocle is a separate piece.

          This charming piece of vintage jewelry measures approximately 1.25" high by .8" wide. If these were being manufactured today – in this quality – they'd cost a small fortune.

          These novelty clips were first advertised in “Women's Wear Daily” magazine in the October, 1937 issue. Bergen says in the ad, “My Diminutive Little Chum Enters Jewelry!”

          These were listed in Kovel's Guide to Antiques about fifteen years ago as being valued at $650.00! Well, they may be....but you may buy a BEAUTIFUL one from me for only...
