The "Rolls Royce" of backstage glass vanishes! This original "Backstage Beaker Vanish" effect was invented by Jack Hughes in the mid 1940's and created a sensation. Here is the effect as the audience sees it:
The performer introduces a small tray with drape. Sitting on the tray is a small tube. Milk from a pitcher is poured into the tube but does not leak.The tube is now lifted to reveal a large glass of milk. It is real liquid and not a painted insert. A spectator is now invited to assist you. The tumbler full of milk is covered again by the tube and suspiciously moved around the tray. You now lift the tube to show the glass is gone! The assistant is asked to wave a wand inside the tube to *prove* the tumbler has vanished!

While showing the tube empty, the drape on the tray "accidentally" falls ... revealing the glass hanging below the tray in a "cradle"! This gets a huge laugh. Everything is now re-set and the effect is repeated for the audience, this time as an "expose' " . But the joke is on the audience...this time, the tumbler truly does vanish completely!

This is without a doubt one of the most effective “sucker” effects ever created. In this updated version by Cliff Wiggs, the tube is designed differently than in the original. In previous versions, the tube was gimmicked and could not be handled by anyone except the performer. This tube can definitely be handled and examined all day long...there's nothing to find!

Every aspect of this effect has been painstakingly thought out. The tube features a finish that will never tarnish. The tumbler is heavy duty acrylic, custom made in the ProLine shop (not a store bought , modified tumbler). It's a large 3" X 5-1/2" size for great visibility. The drape is a beautiful maroon crushed velvet. It is intentionally subtle to draw attention to the glass and tube, without fancy colors and trim. The tray top is covered in a low pile, durable carpet so avoid scratching. The components should look new forever, with proper care.

Everything you need to accomplish this fantastic effect is included except the optional Milk Pitcher as many performers already own one. The complete outfit includes: the tube, the tumbler, the tray, the drape, the wand, the squeeze bottle for easy glass filling, and complete instructions. You'll also need to supply some "OOM" or coloring for the liquid you use in the effect.
