This is a truly top-of-the-line professional vent figure that was a special custom order from the legendary figure maker Brant Gilmer.

          Brant was one of the best kept secrets of the vent community. Brant built all of my personal performing figures. Well-known among collectors of high-end figures and performers using higher-end figures, Brant is definitely not as well-known as some of his contemporaries. Brant is a quiet, unassuming, humble guy... and he always preferred to let his work speak for itself. He didn't need to get up on a chair and beat his chest and tell everyone just how wonderful his work is.

          Every Brant Gilmer artistic creation is hand carved from wood (just the way they used to make 'em...only better!) and features the very finest mechanics. In fact, it is probably the animations and mechanics in his figures that he is best known for. Brant's day job was as a mechanical engineer, so it should come as no surprise that the mechanics in his vent figures are incredibly smooth, unique and innovative...not to mention durable. Operating one of Brant's figures is akin to driving a Rolls Royce. When you grasp the head stick and operate any of the controls, you realize you are operating the ventriloquist's equivalent of a fine musical instrument. There is simply no other experience like it.

          This figure was commissioned by an amateur vent who wanted the very best available. As he was an amateur, it was only seldom used and is, for all intents and purposes, a NEW figure! This figure is simply stunning. From his impish face to his intricate and silky smooth mechanics, he is no doubt a masterpiece of the figure-maker's Art. If I didn't already have FIVE of Brant's figures that I work with. I'd keep this one for myself.  But as a collector, I'm trying to down-size...so my loss is YOUR gain!

          I like the impish look of this fellow.... he reminds me very much of some of Revello Petee's work. "Cute" enough to be impish and sassy, yet also has a look of "sophistication"...he can definitely play a little "older".  And if you wanted to get a different wig (and perhaps a mustache?), he could easily play an "elder" character.

          This figure features the following animations:

          Moving head on a headstick.

          Moving mouth.

          Side-to-side eye movement (self-centering).

          Blinkers (single control)

          Raising eyebrows (may be independently operated - great effect!).

          Deluxe sturdy body with hand-carved wooden hands.  Comes dressed as shown

          This little guy is simply LOADED with personality. From his Marshall-esque dimples to his tousled hair, he is ready to back-talk and sass you and generate TONS of laughs! Believe me, all you need to do is bring him out and have him look around, then cock one eyebrow at the audience, and they will be ROLLING with laughter...before he ever utters a WORD!

        There are two tiny little rubs on his head...one is on his nose - the other on a cheek.  These are not visible to an audience and may be able to be simply cleaned. I've tried to get close-up's of them in the photos. There is a small white spot on his upper lip in one of the photos...that is an artifact of the photo itself - it is NOT a mark on the figure.
